As we continue to expand our footprint in Europe, we are looking for a smart, dynamic, and experienced Purchasing Manager / Buyer to join our team in the Netherlands and help source and manage our portfolio of fresh products and processed ingredients globally.

Your Role

As the Purchasing Manager / Buyer , you will be responsible for building and managing our global sourcing strategy—especially for fresh fruits, vegetables, juices, purees, and related products . Your efforts will support the growth of our distribution business in Europe, the USA, and Asia .

You will be based at our Netherlands office but spend significant time on the ground around the world—visiting farms, factories, and suppliers to negotiate, inspect, and build strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase a wide range of fresh produce, juices, purees, and food ingredients from global suppliers (with a focus on Latin America, Africa, and Asia).
  • Negotiate contracts , terms, and pricing to secure the highest quality products at the most competitive rates.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships , ensuring quality, traceability, and consistency.
  • Travel internationally to meet suppliers, attend trade shows, and evaluate farms and processing facilities.
  • Monitor seasonal availability , quality variations, and global market trends to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Collaborate with our logistics, sales, and compliance teams to ensure timely deliveries, certifications, and documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally with the commercial team to align purchasing with sales demand forecasts and market needs.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sourcing strategies to enhance margins and reduce risk .

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of proven experience in sourcing / purchasing fresh produce, juices, purees, or similar products internationally.
  • A solid understanding of global agricultural supply chains and seasonal crop dynamics .
  • Fluent in English ; other languages such as Spanish, Dutch, or French are highly desirable.
  • A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes full ownership of projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail in contracts and pricing.
  • Familiarity with food safety, certification standards , and international shipping logistics.
  • Willingness and passion to travel internationally , sometimes on short notice.
  • Based in the Netherlands and able to work full-time from our local office.
