FunctieomschrijvingProvide proactive legal counsel, advice, and direction to management at all levels, including HR, VP Europe and country managers. Act as primary point of contact for legal issues in the region, coordinating with U.S.-based paralegals and outside counsel where necessary, while controlling costs. Advise on labor and employment matters. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and revenue contracts, including customer and vendor agreements. Manage and coordinate litigation in the region, determining when to settle vs. litigate, and overseeing strategy with external counsel when required. Oversee regulatory and compliance issues, including EU regulations, trade, shipping, and freight-forwarding requirements. Serve as or support the Data Privacy Officer function, ensuring compliance with data protection obligations and coordinating with the global privacy team in Memphis. Support corporate governance processes, liaising with U.S.-based governance counsel and facilitating documentation for officers and directors. Handle a wide variety of additional matters (e.g., real estate leases, ad hoc local issues) with flexibility and a problem-solving mindset. Ensure continuous and transparent communication with business stakeholders, prioritizing tasks and managing expectations in a dynamic environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction, preferably the Netherlands or another major EU market. 8+ years of demonstrated legal practice, including strong labor & employment law experience. Broad legal generalist with exposure to litigation, contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. Familiarity with transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, airline, or integrator industries strongly preferred. Ability to practice law hands-on, not only manage outside counsel. Strong cost discipline and ability to control external legal spend. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to work with demanding and diverse business leaders. Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage. Resilient, flexible, and able to thrive in a lean team environment with shifting priorities. Pragmatic, hands-on problem solver mindset. Comfortable working in a “one-person show” setting, supported only by U.S. paralegals and occasional local counsel.

For our client, a worldwide famous global C arrier, we are looking for a s enior Legal Manager, to join the team in Rozenburg.
You will :
serve as the primary legal advisor for our client in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, providing direct and pragmatic legal counsel in a lean, fast-paced environment. The role requires broad generalist expertise across labor & employment, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, data privacy and litigation, with an emphasis on hands-on practice.
We offer :
- Salary between 90.000 euro and 112.000 euro, depending on experience
- Contract for one year, after good performance an indefinte contract will be offered
- preferred location : Rozenburg, Netherlands (close to VP Europe), with Germany as a potential secondary location.
- Hybrid way of working : 3-4 days at the office in Rozenburg
