Senior R2R Accountant

Your Tasks

As a Senior R2R Accountant you are responsible for the accurate timely and complete execution of the Record-to-Report process within MediaMarkt BeNeLux. You play a key role in month-end and year-end closings consolidations external reporting and audit preparation.

You work closely with the Finance Manager and act as a subject-matter expert and sparring partner in the areas of accounting consolidation and addition you actively contribute to process improvements and the further professionalization of the R2R domain with end-to-end responsibility for assigned R2R processes including functional coordination of Global Business Shared Service counterparts (Barcelona) and monitoring of quality and timelines.

Key Activity 1: Financial Reporting & Consolidation

• Preparing reviewing and analyzing periodic financial reports.
• Performing and reviewing complex consolidations for internal and external reporting.
• Preparing documentation for external auditors.

Key Activity 2: Month-End Close & R2R Execution

• Actively contributing to an efficient reliable and timely month-end close.
• Performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Safeguarding accounting quality and consistency within R2R.

Key Activity 3: Accounting Expertise & Advisory

• Providing expert advice to the Finance Manager on complex accounting and consolidation matters.
• Translating IFRS guidelines into practical accounting solutions.
• Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements (NL/BE/LUX GAAP where relevant).

Key Activity 4: Audit & Compliance Support

• Acting as the main point of contact for audit-related questions within R2R.
• Preparing audit files disclosures and analyses.
• Identifying control issues and supporting improvement actions.
• Preparing and submitting eco-tax returns and statistical reports.

Key Activity 5: Process Optimization & Systems

• Identifying improvement opportunities within R2R processes.
• Contributing to SAP optimization initiatives.
• Actively participating in and/or leading projects within the R2R domain.

Key Activity 6: Tax Accounting Support

• Supporting the Tax Manager with tax calculations and postings.
• Preparing VAT returns and corporate income tax (CIT) input.
• Contributing to process improvements within tax accounting.

Your Profile

• HBO / WO level of working and thinking supplemented with a relevant financial qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting Record-to-Report (R2R) or audit
• Strong command of the Dutch and English languages
• Preferably experience with SAP
