Accountant

Our Freight Forwarding client in Rotterdam are looking for an Accountant.

70-80k Euro plus benefits.

Responsibilities

Booking of administration invoices, travel expenses

Fixed asset recording

Preparing monthly provisions for administration expenses and posting the same

Daily Bank Reconciliation

Daily Bank Payments

Manage accounts receivable collection and accounts payable payment incl. Sending account statements to customers

Co-ordination remittances with bank

Liaising with bank, auditors

Creation of creditors and debtors

Regular dunning runs

Oversee external tax consulting and payroll services.

Support or manage the month-end closing process and reporting to FM Germany

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely registration and reconciliation of all business transactions with customers and other Group companies.

Prepare and take responsibility for the financial reporting according to IFRS and Local GAAP.

Ensure compliance with all HQ policies, company standards, local laws, governmental regulations, and financial reporting requirements.

Continuously analyse financials and independently identify relevant drivers as well as financial optimization potential (e.g. business management evaluations).

Focus on the development of accounting quality, ensuring reliable internal control systems, and supporting external and internal auditors.

Prepare ongoing financial reports, including budgets and rolling forecasts (RFC).

Support or manage the month-end closing process and reporting to HQ.

Essential skills:

A degree in business administration, finance, or a comparable qualification (e.g. certified accountant).

A minimum of 3 years of qualified work experience.

Ideally, experience in freight forwarding, transportation, and logistics.

Knowledge of Exact Online, SAP FC and preferred.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Fluent in English and Dutch, Germann is a plus.

Ability to work efficiently as team player, hands-on and do-er mentality.

Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
