Job Title : Co-Founder & CTO - AI-Powered EdTech Startup

Location : The Hague, Netherlands

About Us : We are an early-stage EdTech startup aiming to create a safe, low-stakes, and engaging learning environment for educators by offering a formative assessment tool for deeper understanding of the learners. We are passionate about creating a positive impact and are looking for visionaries to bring this idea to life.

We are currently working with a facilitator ‘Frank and the Backs' in The Hague, Netherlands.

Roles and Responsibilities : We are looking for a Co-Founder & CTO to lead the development of our AI-powered educational platform. As the first technical member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the entire technical infrastructure.

  • Technology Strategy : Develop and execute the technology strategy, design scalable and secure architecture, and monitor system performance.
  • Product Development : Lead product development, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Team Leadership : Provide technical leadership, make key decisions on technology stack, and guide the engineering team.
  • Innovation and Research : Implement innovative technologies, stay updated on industry trends, and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure product quality and reliability through effective testing and QA processes.
  • Scalability and Performance : Plan for infrastructure scalability and performance to accommodate growth.
  • Cybersecurity and Data Privacy : Implement robust cybersecurity measures and ensure data privacy compliance.
  • Team Building and Management : Recruit, build, and manage a high-performing technology team.
  • Communication : Communicate the technical vision to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with co-founders.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation : Manage the technology budget and allocate resources to meet project milestones.
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving : Identify and mitigate risks, resolve technical challenges, and manage intellectual property.

What You’ll Do :

  • Lead the development of our AI-powered formative assessment tool (focusing on speech-to-text, AI-driven questioning, and summarization).
  • Design and implement the full-stack architecture (frontend, backend, database).
  • Build out AI components, such as natural language processing for understanding student explanations and generating meaningful follow-up questions.
  • Develop the cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or similar) to ensure scalability and performance.

    • What We’re Looking For :

  • Full-stack developer with expertise in both frontend and backend technologies (React / Flutter, Python / Django / Node.js).
  • Understanding of AI technologies, specifically natural language processing, speech-to-text, and generative models (GPT, BERT, Whisper).
  • Experience building cloud-based applications and understanding of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
