The Engineering Experience and Platforms domain within NN is responsible for optimizing the NN engineering experience by delivering a frictionless and integrated engineering journey through the Internal Developer Platform and supporting the software delivery lifecycle with CI / CD solutions. While also offering several reliable platforms that provide integration or hosting solutions (e.g. API Gateway and Kubernetes). Thereby enabling the business units to optimize costs, time to production, security and compliance. Enabling them to shift focus to delivering business value.

We serve DevOps teams within NN globally and we can measure our success using the DORA metrics (amongst others). We are successful when DevOps teams optimize their performance on : deployment frequency, change lead time, change failure rate, mean time to recover.

In the role of Engineering Manager for Engineering Experience and Platforms you will be responsible for building a great product organization and workforce that helps the domain achieve its product vision and maximize value for its users. You address the need for the growth of robust product engineering practices and a skilled engineering workforce in your product domain and act as an enabler for the digital transformation.

Your responsibilities :

• You effectively manage the NN’s People Cycle process and use the NN HR conversations, processes and tools to manage staffing, hiring, selection, onboarding and retention
• You define the objectives for and with the team, including development paths for skills and team maturity
• Creating a Strategic Workforce Planning for the team composition in line with the product strategy
• Establish Objectives and quarterly Key Results on learning and development together with the domain’s leadership team (e.g. Product Manager, Product Owners and domain architect)
• Empower teams by removing impediments
• You develop and evolve the engineers based on your technical experience and craftmanship
• You help build the right culture by organizing engagement among engineers, make sure they have fun in their job and learning new skills becomes normal. Also you ensure the teams create a mindset of solving customer problems and delivering product value
• You guide the team towards modern engineering and help ensure product quality
