Mechanical Engineer - Transmission Housing

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to joinour fast-growing development team responsible for hybridpowertrains. In this role, you will play a crucial part in thedesign and development of transmission housings, ensuring they meetfunctional and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Act as the Component Owner forthe housings of electric propulsionsystems.
• Establish housing designs that meetboth functional requirements and HPDC (High-Pressure Die Casting)technology specifications.
• Develop componentswhile ensuring proper interfaces with other subsystems and vehiclecomponents.
• Coordinate the creation of 3D CADmodels and 2D drawings, including relevant specifications such asporosity and cleanliness.
• Manage scheduling andfollow-up on cross-functional engineering activities andtasks.
• Coordinate analytical and physicaldesign verifications / tests, assess results, and prepare projectreports.
• Lead a cross-functional team ofdesign, purchasing, and process development for thecomponent.
• Establish and maintain componentrequirements, aligning them with system requirements and suppliercapabilities.

Functie-eisen

• BSc, MSc or PhD in MechanicalEngineering.
• Profound knowledge of HPDC designand manufacturing, with an understanding of the opportunities andrestrictions associated with castingtechnology.
• Experience in designing highlystressed mechanical components for automotive propulsionsystems.
• Familiarity with project managementprinciples and experience in planning and managing componentresponsibilities.
• Good knowledge of CAE anddie-cast / mold-flow simulation, as well as PLM and CAD systems(e.g., Windchill, CREO).
• Experience or affinitywith automotive engineering and relatedprocesses.

Preferred Skills andExperience :

• Strongexpertise in the analysis and design of transmission housing andits components.
• Extensive experience in thedesign and verification of HPDC components and correspondingmanufacturing techniques.
• Proficiency in bothanalytical and numerical (FEA) simulationtechniques.
• Knowledge of automotive developmentprocesses, including FMEA, APQP, DCP, Six Sigma, and8D.
• Team player capable of working in amultidisciplinary, international, and dynamicenvironment.
• Strong problem-solving skills andthe ability to manage challenging situations, including issueresolution and prioritization.

• Salary : A competitive salary between€4,000 and €5,500 gross per month, depending on experience andqualifications.
