What you will be doing

You will collaborate closely with partners and (senior) colleagues specializing in energy and contribute to high-impact projects that help shape the future energy landscape. With a strong sustainability angle, our projects bridge the gap between public and private interests in the energy transition.

Covering the full energy value chain from renewable project development (offshore wind, hydrogen, solar, biogas) to guidance on energy retail strategies, regulatory frameworks, and grid development, we drive solutions at every stage.

Our team brings deep sector knowledge and a pragmatic approach to help clients navigate complex challenges and seize opportunities in a rapidly evolving energy system. On your first day you can already have a real impact, since you will be working with clients from all over an organization and often will report to senior management. As a Senior Consultant / Project Managerat Roland Berger you will:

• Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants).
• Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
• Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
• Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
• Contribute to Roland Berger's knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
• Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Our requirements

• You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
• You have between four and seven years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting or in strategic and/or operational roles at a large company or in the public sector. Having prior involvement in energy is a requirement.
• You have technical affinity and commercial insight.
• You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
• You work with precision.
• You are open-minded.
• You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
• You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
• You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.

The application process starts with a review of these application documents. When you are invited to the first round, the first step is an analytical assessment via MS Teams. When completed successfully the next step is the first round interviews, which consists of three interviews: one interpersonal interview and two case interviews. In the final phase, you will have two additional interviews and must present a case.
