This Shared Service Center offers employment to over 550 employees, with 40 nationalities, who speak 34 languages. We are looking for a Financial Accountant!

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

In Financial Accounting, you contribute to our international business by the timely and accurate preparation and reporting of the monthly financial statements for one or more of our European DHL entities in accordance with accounting principles (IFRS) and corporate policies.

Your role

• You are responsible for the preparation and follow-up of several balance sheet accounts, including risk management according to our general ledger guidelines.
• You maintain the balance sheet accounts in the ERP, ensuring that the General Ledger is accurate and up to date.
• You prepare and process accruals and provisions, and you perform various month-end closing activities according to our month-end schedule and in line with standard accounting principles.
• You ensure proper backups are gathered and stored according to our general ledger guidelines.
• You provide support for the analytical review (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss).
• You provide financial information to the local finance teams and to internal/external auditors.
• You recognize and address recurring issues related to your assigned activities and escalate in a timely manner to ensure resolution.
• You contribute to our continuous improvement and quality initiatives by actively recommending and implementing process and service improvements in your area of responsibility.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal Financial Accountant is a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a Bachelor’s or University degree in Financial Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics, or equivalent experience. The perfect candidate brings 1–2 years of experience in Record-to-Report (RtR) and General Ledger activities, combined with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. They are highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and are able to build and maintain strong working relationships with local business partners, colleagues, and peers. With a continuous improvement mindset, this candidate is self-starting, accurate in their work, and able to communicate fluently in English while performing effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
