Job Description

Fugro is seeking a commercially driven Head of Product to lead the next stage of growth for ROAMES and Processing as a Service (PaaS). Based in Nootdorp, the Netherlands, this role will turn strong platform capability into repeatable adoption, revenue growth and global market expansion.

ROAMES is a mature, revenue-generating platform trusted by major power utilities, while PaaS is built on strong technical foundations. The opportunity now is to identify high-value customer problems, validate market demand, and bring solutions to market faster through an AI-first platform approach.

We are not looking for a leader who simply adopts AI tools. We are looking for someone who can fundamentally redesign how products are discovered, developed, and scaled by leveraging an AI-first operating model. For us, AI-first goes beyond technology adoption. It means rethinking the entire platform development model, including processes, team structures, and unit economics, to fully capitalize on what AI now makes possible.

The Opportunity

  • Protect and grow ROAMES as a trusted platform with an established client base.
  • Scale PaaS into a repeatable commercial growth engine.
  • Build growth on top of Fugro's project-services business rather than replacing it.
  • Create an AI-first model that compresses learning cycles and focuses investment on validated customer value.

This role brings together product leadership, commercial growth, customer success, and business building. You will work closely with customers and collaborate across sales, engineering, operations, support, and Fugro’s domain experts to shape strategy, drive adoption, and deliver measurable business impact.

Regular international travel is an integral part of this role.

Our AI-First Platform Model

  • A small, co-located core team built around an exceptional full-stack technical leader and a strong product designer.
  • AI as the primary environment across discovery, prototyping, design, coding, testing, analysis and iteration.
  • Embedded domain experts acting as validators rather than creating permanent delivery layers.
  • Direct customer engagement and rapid commercial experiments to determine what is worth building.
  • Short learning cycles, high individual accountability and measurable business outcomes.

Your role

  • Drive customer discovery by identifying high-value problems, testing assumptions, and validating demand before committing investment.
  • Own commercial growth by defining pricing, packaging, positioning, go-to-market strategy, adoption, expansion, and revenue outcomes.
  • Lead AI-first product development by guiding a small AI-native team, eliminating unnecessary hand-offs, and accelerating the journey from problem identification to production.
  • Shape portfolio strategy by defining the vision, value propositions, and investment priorities across ROAMES and PaaS.
  • Champion customer success by connecting onboarding, product usage, support insights, retention, and expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain business-model discipline by scaling solutions within client-owned data environments, regional delivery models, and Fugro’s hybrid platform-services approach.
  • Make strategic build, buy, or partner decisions by determining where Fugro should differentiate, collaborate, or avoid investment.
  • Provide strong leadership by building trust, developing exceptional talent, and creating clarity without adding bureaucracy.

Your trackrecord

  • You have owned commercial outcomes for complex B2B platforms, including pricing, packaging, adoption, revenue growth, and market expansion. You have used direct customer discovery to challenge assumptions and influence product and investment decisions.
  • You have demonstrated an AI-first approach that fundamentally changed how products were conceived, developed, or scaled. Simply using AI assistants or productivity tools is not enough; you understand how AI can reshape the way products and teams operate.
  • You bring a strong commercial product mindset. You can translate complex technologies and business challenges into clear, compelling, and marketable value propositions. You quickly develop an understanding of customer workflows, data ownership models, operational constraints, and buying behaviours.
  • You have a track record of developing high-performing teams, and you know how to attract, coach, and retain exceptional product, design, and technical talent.
  • Experience in geospatial technology, infrastructure, or utilities is an advantage, but not a requirement. We value learning agility, customer discovery skills, and commercial judgement more than deep domain expertise from day one.

Candidates who rely on theoretical frameworks without validating assumptions in complex, real-world environments are unlikely to succeed in this role.

What Fugro offers

  • Based on your relevant experience, the salary ranges from €6.700 to €9.020. This amount is part of our salary range, with opportunities for growth within the role;
  • 29 holidays per year based on a fulltime employment (of which 4 are appointed by Fugro management) and the possibility to purchase 12 additional days;
  • The opportunity to work from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies;
  • The possibility of setting up an ergonomic home office, including requesting equipment such as hardware or basic office furniture;
  • Work-from-home allowance of EUR 2,35 net per day, where applicable;
  • Commuting allowance, with mileage reimbursement for car travel (10-30 km one-way) and an additional EUR 0,10 per km for employees who walk or cycle to work;
