The job
As a Design & Product Quality Engineer, you ensure that quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development to serial production. You collaborate closely with R&D, production, and engineering teams to ensure that products meet quality, reliability, and customer requirements. You support product development activities through risk analysis, validation, and design reviews, while also monitoring product quality in serial production. Additionally, you investigate product nonconformities, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You report to the QESH Manager.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensure quality is integrated into the design and development process.
- Participate in design reviews and perform risk analysis activities such as FMEA.
- Support verification and validation activities for new products.
- Monitor product quality in serial production and analyze quality performance.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure smooth transfer from development to serial production.
- Perform root cause analysis (e.g. 8D) and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate product nonconformities and ensure systematic resolution.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and product inspection activities.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance product and process quality.
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or Quality Engineering.
- 3–5+ years of experience in product quality, design quality or manufacturing quality.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, root cause analysis (8D), and problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and quality control methods.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is a plus.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and product validation activities is a plus.
- Experience in high-tech or precision manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Experience with precision mechanics, optics or high-tech manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
