PUBLIC RELATIONS, SEEDING & EVENT COORDINATOR
Amsterdam | 4-5 days a week | On-site
Do you know how to build relationships, spot a strong story and get it in front of the right people? Do you understand what makes New Amsterdam Surf Association (NASA) relevant, and which press and creators matter in the worlds of surf, streetwear and city culture? We are looking for a PR, Seeding & Event Coordinator to take ownership of how NASA shows up in media and with creators.
As PR, Seeding & Event Coordinator at NASA, you will be part of the marketing team and the direct link between our brand and the outside world. You will build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and creators, manage our seeding programme and coordinate our ambassador programme. You make sure our stories and product priorities land in the right places, with the right people, at the right time. You will also create and produce event concepts that are in line with the NASA identity and the collection campaign concepts.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts across fashion, lifestyle, surf and culture, and be the first point of contact for journalists and creators who reach out to NASA
- Pitch NASA stories to editors and journalists to generate earned coverage, not paid placement
- Write and send press releases and product mailings
- Stay on top of what's happening in surf, streetwear and culture. Follow the media, track relevant creators and understand the shifts that matter so you know when and how NASA fits into the conversation
- Build a PR and seeding calendar that runs alongside our drop schedule, from product launches to events and activations
- Manage our seeding programme: selection, outreach, sending, tracking, follow-up
- Coordinate our Ambassador Programme, from onboarding to briefing to relationship management
- Align with the team on content and timing so that what lands in press and with creators ties into our owned channels
- Track (press) coverage, reach and seeding results, and use it to sharpen the next move
- Be present at events, launches and activations to guide and support press and creators on the ground
- Create and produce event concepts for events like Paris fashion week, pop-up stores and collection launches.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
- You have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in PR, communications, influencer/seeding & event management, either in-house or at an agency
- You have a relevant educational background, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
- You write well in both Dutch and English, and know how to adapt your tone to different audiences
- You get fashion, streetwear and city culture, and you know where NASA fits in
- You know what feels authentic and can spot a good story
- You know the Dutch media landscape and understand which publications, journalists and creators matter for a brand like ours
- You understand how creators work, and how seeding and press connect to what happens on social. You follow media, influencers and cultural trends closely, and know when they are relevant for NASA
- You're organised, proactive and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where everyone rolls up their sleeves
- You're a creative thinker who does not just execute, but also comes up with angles and ideas that make a story worth telling
- An existing network in Dutch lifestyle or fashion media is a plus
WHAT DO WE OFFER:
- A role in Amsterdam for 4-5 days a week, based at our office by the water
- A gross monthly salary between €2,500 and €3,000
- 25 vacation days based on full-time employment
- Staff discount on our collections
- A small, direct team where your work is visible from day one
- A role that keeps you close to the brand, the community and the product
- An open and direct working culture, where character matters more than polish
- Shared lunches, Friday drinks, and regular events and activations
ABOUT US:
New Amsterdam is born from the energy of the city and shaped by the reality of cold-water surf. Built between concrete and coastline, we created our own perspective on surf culture: raw, real and unapologetically our own. Euro, city, surf.
We're a hands-on, culture-driven team of surfers, designers and creatives building a brand we believe in. We work closely together, think independently and make things that feel true to who we are.
NASA's marketing team is small and closely connected to the brand. We handle everything from campaign planning and content to community and press. You'll report to the Marketing Manager and work alongside a team that cares about what we make and how it's received.
