🚀 The Role
As a Senior Project Officer / Senior API Specialist within the HR IT Transition Program, you will play a key role in analyzing and transforming a complex HR IT landscape where extensive data exchange takes place. You will advise stakeholders, contribute hands-on to solutions, and guide the organization toward a future-proof integration landscape.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and modernize legacy integration and API landscapes
- Identify bottlenecks in current integration solutions and gather organizational needs
- Define and drive API strategy and vision (generic & domain-specific), translated into a prioritized, phased roadmap
- Design API architectures and detailed API designs
- Develop and validate APIs through hands-on design and proof-of-concepts (POCs)
- Establish API governance, standards, tooling, and ways of working
- Lead and guide development teams
- Coach and enable internal teams
- Collaborate closely with domain and API experts at a technical depth
- Act as a change agent with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
✅ Your Profile
- 7–10 years of proven experience with integration and API-related challenges
- Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy integration landscapes
- Hands-on experience in complex enterprise or domain-driven environments; HR domain knowledge is a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and modern API practices
- Hands-on experience with API tooling and platforms
- Experience with API governance models and operating frameworks
- Proven capability to lead teams and mentor professionals
- Excellent communication skills and strong change leadership
📌 Practical Information
- Work location: Combination of The Hague and Utrecht
- On-site presence: 4 days per week (3 days The Hague, 1 day Utrecht)
- Security requirement: Dutch passport mandatory (government role)
