Job Role
The Supervisor Finance - GL Accountant/ IFRS Specialist is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting processes for Hoshizaki Europe B.V. The role focuses heavily on managing the full GL, ensuring timely and accurate month-end closings, and maintaining high-quality reconciliations and reporting while applying IFRS knowledge where required.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Ledger Management (Primary Focus)
• Maintain and manage the complete general ledger for assigned entities within Europe
• Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries, accruals, and adjustment
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Ensure GL accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal accounting policies
• Maintain fixed assets register and process related depreciation and capitalization entries
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions; ensure timely settlements and matching
2. Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Closing
• Lead and execute all closing activities for the GL function
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data to group reporting system
• Review P&L and balance sheet during closing cycles to identify inconsistencies or unusual movement
• Prepare closing files and documentation needed for internal and external auditors
3. IFRS Support (Secondary Focus)
• Apply IFRS principles in day-to-day accounting, including leases, revenue, provisions, and ass
• Ensure correct accounting treatment for non-standard or complex transactions
• Support implementation of new IFRS standards and group accounting updates
• Prepare technical accounting assessments where need
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
• Maintain robust GL-related internal controls and ensure compliance with company polies
• Support audit processes by preparing required documentation and answering queries
• Participate in internal control reviews and process improvement initiatives
5. Process & System Improvement
• Identify and implement improvements in GL processes, reconciliations, and closing timelines
• Support ERP upgrades or process standardization across European entities
• Contribute to automation of recurring GL tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy
6. Cross-Department Collaboration
• Work closely with AP, AR, Payroll, FP&A, and Shared Services to ensure accurate GL data
• Provide guidance to business partners on accounting treatment and GL-related queries
• Support new business activities, system changes, or entity integrations from a GL perspective
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• 4–7 years of experience in general ledger accounting or audit (Big 4 experience is a plus)
• Solid IFRS knowledge; IFRS certification or ACCA/CPA is desirable
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of GL processes, reconciliations, and period-end closings
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics is an
advantage.
• Experience in a multinational or manufacturing environment preferred
