About eyeo
eyeo is an innovative, fast-growing deep-tech startup bringing breakthrough technology to the image sensor space. Our advanced color splitter technology has the potential to disrupt a $25B+ market, enabling transformative advancements across consumer electronics, automotive, medical imaging, and surveillance.
Operating as a fabless semiconductor company, eyeo coordinates a complex partner ecosystem across wafer foundries, photonic processing, assembly, and supply chain partners to deliver production-ready imaging solutions.
We value Collaboration, Trust, and Excellence, and are scaling both our organization and operational capabilities to support industrialization and growth.
Role Overview
The VP Operations is responsible for building and scaling eyeo’s end-to-end operational capability—from prototype to volume production.
This role owns supply chain, manufacturing operations, industrialization, and quality, ensuring that eyeo evolves from a development-driven organization into a reliable product and delivery engine.
You will orchestrate a complex ecosystem of external partners (foundries, OSATs, suppliers) while building the internal processes, systems, and team required to scale.
This leader works closely with Engineering, Product, and Commercial to ensure on-time delivery, predictable cost, and consistent quality, while proactively managing risk across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy
- Define and execute eyeo’s end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain strategy
- Select, manage, and optimize partnerships with foundries, assembly partners, and suppliers
- Ensure scalability from prototype → pilot → volume production
- Drive cost optimization, lead time reduction, and capacity planning
2. Program & Delivery Execution
- Establish operational planning across wafer runs, packaging, and delivery
- Drive execution discipline (milestones, dependencies, risks)
- Ensure reliable delivery timelines aligned with customer commitments
- Implement KPI-driven execution (yield, cycle time, cost, delivery)
3. Quality & Reliability
- Define and implement quality systems across internal and external operations
- Ensure product reliability and qualification (incl. customer standards)
- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement across the supply chain
- Build a culture of operational excellence and accountability
4. External Partner Management
- Act as executive interface to key manufacturing and supply chain partners
- Negotiate terms, ensure performance, and manage risk
- Align partners with eyeo’s roadmap, volume expectations, and quality standards
5. Operations Organization & Processes
- Build and scale the operations team (supply chain, Yield & Product/Test Engineering, Quality and IT)
- Implement processes, systems, and tools required for scaling
- Define governance, reporting cadence, and cross-functional alignment
6. Risk Management
- Identify and proactively manage risks across supply chain and production
- Implement structured frameworks (e.g., FMEA, dual sourcing, contingency planning)
- Ensure resilience in a complex, multi-partner ecosystem
Required Experience & Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Engineering (Electrical, Semiconductor, Physics, or related field)
- 15+ years experience in semiconductor operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
- Proven track record in fabless or system-integrator environments
- Strong experience with:
- Foundries (CMOS / MEMS / photonics preferred)
- OSAT / packaging ecosystems
- Supplier and contract manufacturing management
- Contract negotiations for prototyping and volume production agreements
- Experience scaling from R&D / prototype → production → volume
- Strong leadership experience building and scaling teams
- Deep understanding of yield, cost structures, and semiconductor operations KPIs
- Startup mindset: hands-on, pragmatic, execution-driven
- Hands-on experience working with Chinese supply chain and manufacturing ecosystems, including:
- Managing vendors, foundries, or OSAT partners in China
- Navigating local business practices, supplier qualification, and cost structures
- Driving quality, IP protection, and delivery performance in cross-border collaborations
