• Indicative Salary Range: 3622€ to 5520€ per month

The successful candidate for this vacancy will be joining a highly skilled English Department, which boasts excellent results across all of the Baccalaureate exams (L1-3), including some of the highest oral exam results in Europe. It is a dynamic team strengthened by the diverse backgrounds of our teachers, their individual approaches to teaching and learning, and their different experiences in school environments. This full-time position (1FTE) offers our new colleague the opportunity to work within a supportive and welcoming department that values professional autonomy as well as enjoying the benefits of collaboration. We are a team who seek to build upon and share our collective knowledge, finding innovate ways to engage our students while personalising tried-and-tested strategies to suit our classes

_It is also important to note that the successful candidate may be asked to work within the Support Department for students who require one-to-one or small group language intervention. More specific information on how this will be implemented will be shared with the successful candidate upon hiring. _

About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

• Deliver engaging lessons to students aged 11-18, following the European Baccalaureate curriculum.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student’s talent is nurtured.
• Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to support a thriving English programme.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language / English Literature (First-degree/Eerste graads) and full teaching qualification for Secondary Education (recognized by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO).
• You hold a fully qualified teacher status for Secondary Education in the country the qualification is obtained (e.g. PGCE and QTS with induction)
• Native speaker of English
• Experience in teaching English to native speakers and/ or experience in teaching English as an additional language from beginner level to advanced level
• Experience in teaching the age group of 11-18
• Experience in international or intercultural education
• Good ICT skills and an understanding of ICT use in an educational context
• Experience in teaching EB, IB, GCE A levels or Cambridge English qualifications CAE/CPE or IELTS

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, either in person or via Microsoft Teams. As part of the interview process, may be ask to teach a lesson to an assigned class under the observation of the Subject Coordinator, and possibly Line Manager; part of the interview will focus on discussing this lesson. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply early to ensure consideration. In case of equal suitability, internal candidates are preferred.
