What are my responsibilities?

As Assistant Chief Engineer, you will support the Chief Engineer in leading the day-to-day operation of our Engineering department. Together, you will ensure that our hotel remains safe, well maintained and ready to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and associates.

No two days are the same. One moment you are coordinating preventative maintenance, the next you are supporting technical projects, troubleshooting complex issues or coaching the team on the floor.

In this role, you will:

• Support the daily operation of the Engineering department and lead the team in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
  
• Coordinate and monitor maintenance requests, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  
• Help plan and execute preventative maintenance programmes across the hotel.
  
• Support the maintenance of all technical installations, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration, life safety systems and building equipment.
  
• Monitor the condition of the hotel and identify opportunities for improvement and repair.
  
• Build a positive and collaborative team culture by coaching, supporting and motivating associates.
  
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety and company standards.
  
• Assist with technical projects, renovations and contractor management where needed.
  
• Contribute to delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring our facilities operate seamlessly.
  

What are we looking for?

You enjoy combining technical expertise with leadership. You stay calm when priorities change, like solving problems and know how to bring people together to get things done.

Ideally, you have:

• 
  
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within Engineering, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment.
  
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and hotel facilities.
  
• Experience coordinating maintenance programmes and repair work.
  
• A hands‑on approach and the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
  
• Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch is an advantage but not essential.
  
• A passion for quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
