I'm currently supporting one of Europe's fastest-growing Data Center owner/operators as they continue their significant expansion across the Netherlands.
Due to continued investment and new campus developments, we're looking for experienced Data Center Critical Environment Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for maintaining some of Europe's most advanced mission-critical facilities.

The Role
As a DC Critical Environment Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity, availability and performance of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations.
You'll work alongside commissioning, construction and operations teams to ensure all critical systems are installed, maintained and operated to the highest engineering standards whilst delivering 100% uptime for customers.
This is a technically diverse position with exposure to:
- High Voltage & Low Voltage Electrical Distribution
- Static UPS Systems
- Emergency Standby Generators
- Switchgear & Protection Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Chilled Water & Large-Scale Cooling Systems
- Fire Detection & Suppression Systems
- Critical HVAC Infrastructure
- Commissioning & Integrated Systems Testing
- Change Management & Critical Maintenance Planning
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Support commissioning activities, witnessing FAT, SAT and integrated systems testing.
- Validate equipment performance, sequence of operations and operational documentation before handover.
- Coordinate customer installations and power deployments with engineering and construction teams.
- Review and follow SOPs, MOPs, ERP procedures and Change Management processes.
- Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance while protecting critical loads.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, electrical regulations and operational standards.
- Support ISO, certification and internal audit programmes.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, resilience and operational efficiency across the facility.
What We're Looking For
You'll have experience working within high-availability or technically demanding environments, such as:
- Data Centres
- Critical Facilities
- Power Generation
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
- Semiconductor
- Industrial Process Plants
- Hospitals
- Utilities
- Heavy Manufacturing
You'll also have:
✔ Minimum 3 years' experience within a critical engineering environment.
✔ Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (Bachelor/HBO or equivalent).
✔ NEN 3140 & NEN 3840 certification, or demonstrable High Voltage operational experience (essential).
✔ Knowledge of critical power, HVAC, UPS or building services infrastructure.
✔ Experience working with preventative maintenance, commissioning or operational engineering.
✔ Comfortable working in both Dutch and English language.
✔ Ability to travel occasionally between Data Centre locations (10–25%).
