Sr AS400 Engineer – Amsterdam, Netherlands Location: Amsterdam Start: Immediate Contract: 6 months Experience: 4–6 years Role Type: DevOps / Engineering About the Role We are seeking a Senior AS400 Engineer to join a DevOps team responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and stabilizing AS400/IBM i applications. You will work across legacy ERP systems, complex integrations, and low‑documentation environments, ensuring business continuity and high system reliability. The role also includes mentoring engineers and occasionally stepping into Team Lead responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Maintain and enhance AS400 applications (fixes, improvements, new logic). Develop and support RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG Free Format programs. Work with CLP programming, DB2/400, embedded SQL, and AS400 file systems. Manage job processing, batch jobs, scheduling, and system performance. Analyze data flows, APIs, and integration dependencies across ERP and enterprise systems. Support interfaces between AS400 and SAP, POS, logistics, and other systems. Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Work within ITSM processes to meet SLA, MTTR, and incident reduction targets. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps delivery KPIs (DORA metrics). Ensure stability-first operations with zero disruption during transitions.
