FunctieomschrijvingSr AS400 Engineer – Amsterdam, Netherlands Location: Amsterdam Start: Immediate Contract Duration: 6 months Experience: 4–6 years Role Type: DevOps / Engineering Stack: AS400 / IBM i About the Role We are seeking a Senior AS400 Engineer to join a DevOps team responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and stabilizing AS400/IBM i applications. You will work across legacy ERP systems, complex integrations, and low‑documentation environments, ensuring business continuity and high system reliability. This role also includes mentoring engineers and occasionally stepping into Team Lead responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Maintain and enhance AS400 applications (fixes, improvements, new logic). Develop and support RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG Free Format programs. Work with CLP programming, DB2/400, embedded SQL, and AS400 file systems. Manage job processing, batch jobs, scheduling, and system performance. Analyze data flows, APIs, and integration dependencies across ERP and enterprise systems. Support interfaces between AS400 and SAP, POS, logistics, and other systems. Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Work within ITSM processes to meet SLA, MTTR, and incident reduction targets. Contribute to DevSecOps KPIs (DORA metrics, deployment success rate). Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership when required. Ensure stability-first operations with zero disruption during transitions.
