At Lucas Bols, we believe finance should be part of building the business - not just reporting on it.
Kandidaten dienen de tijd te nemen om alle onderdelen van deze vacature zorgvuldig te lezen. Gelieve snel te solliciteren.
The strongest business leaders understand both the commercial side of growth and the financial mechanics behind it. That’s exactly what this role is about.
We are looking for a Finance & Commerce Manager to join our Regional Liqueurs & Spirits team (RLS) – a very entrepreneurial, multi-disciplinary and highly-autonomous teams within Lucas Bols.
This is not your typical finance role.
You’ll work directly on some of our biggest brands, help shape commercial decisions, challenge business performance, and act as a sparring partner to leadership. You’ll be involved in everything from brand investments and portfolio strategy to pricing discussions, distributor negotiations and identifying new growth opportunities.
In short: if you enjoy numbers, but want to be close to the actual business, have commercial acumen and help drive decisions that really matter - keep reading.
What you’ll do
You’ll operate right at the center of finance and commercial decision making. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a strategic sparring partner by identifying business opportunities, risks and performance drivers
- Leading monthly business reviews and translating financial performance into clear commercial insights and action plans
- Analysing sales performance, margins, profitability and return on brand investments
- Leading the preparation of budgets, forecasts and long-term business planning
- Creating budget cycles, forecasts and long-term business planning
- Building business cases for new initiatives, product launches and strategic projects
- Negotiating with distributors and external partners, including pricing discussions, profitability analysis and strategic decision making
- Advising senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Leadership teams
- Going beyond reporting: helping shape the actual business decisions behind the numbers
Who we think you are
We’re not looking for someone who only likes spreadsheets. We’re looking for someone who is commercially curious. Someone who likes understanding brands, markets and growth opportunities just as much as understanding the numbers behind them. You probably recognise yourself in the following:
- Around 4–7 years of experience in finance, with focus on business control or commercial finance
- You understand P&Ls, forecasting and financial modelling — but also enjoy understanding the commercial side of the business
- You’re curious about brands, marketing and commercial strategy
- You enjoy working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where ownership is expected
- You’re proactive and naturally take initiative instead of waiting for instructions
- You are comfortable challenging stakeholders and translating complex analysis into clear recommendations
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and Power BI experience
- Fluent in English. Dutch is a very big plus because a significant chunk of the business is done in the Benelux
- Experience working in an international environment is a plus
What makes this role different
Our Regional Liqueurs & Spirits team operates differently. We are a small, highly entrepreneurial team built around ownership, accountability and independence. That means:
- You won’t be working in a traditional corporate finance structure
- You will have direct exposure to senior decision making
- You will work across finance, brands and commercial strategy - not just reporting
- You will be involved in real commercial decision making, from brand investments and portfolio strategy to pricing discussions and external negotiations
- You will have the freedom to challenge ideas and drive your own projects
- You will be part of a team that moves fast, thinks independently and enjoys building things
We care more about smart thinking, curiosity and ownership than hierarchy.
Benefits
In addition to your base salary, we also offer the following:
- Holiday days - 30 days per year based on full time employment
- Commuting allowance
- Disability & accident insurance
- Healthy daily lunch
Don’t tick every box?
