Kaiko is building a next-generation agentic clinical AI assistant that helps clinicians reason across patient data, guidelines, and diagnostics.

Healthcare decisions are rarely made by a single person or from a single data source. Kaiko's assistant maintains longitudinal patient context across encounters, clinicians, and institutions, enabling collaboration, second opinions, and complex diagnostic workflows. The system is designed to operate safely in real clinical environments, with human oversight, auditability, and regulatory alignment at its core.

Our assistant core supports broadly applicable clinical tasks such as patient data navigation, guideline interaction, multimodal interaction (chat and voice), and care coordination. On top of this foundation, we are developing specialized diagnostic agents in areas such as oncology, radiology, and pathology.

We build in close collaboration with leading hospitals and research centers, including the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI). kaiko is a well-funded company with a growing international team, operating from Zurich and Amsterdam.

About the role

We deliver through cross-functional squads that span UX, backend, infrastructure, ML/inference, data engineering, data collection and annotation, applied science, security, regulatory and product. As we scale toward many hospital deployments, keeping that delivery on track across so many moving parts is a growing challenge.

As a Technical Project Manager, you'll be the person we can bring into whichever project most needs direction - and trust to create order. That might be an infrastructure or integration project, a complex customer deployment, or setting up an entirely new operational delivery process. The common thread isn't the domain: it's that you build context fast, bring structure and momentum, manage the dependencies, and leave everyone confident the project will land. Product decides what we build and why; engineering and tech leads decide how; you own getting it delivered — decomposing the agreed scope into a plan, managing dependencies, timelines, and risk, and keeping the team moving to commitment. You'll report to our Staff Technical Program Manager.

You will be based in either The Netherlands or Switzerland, with the expectation of spending at least 50% of your time at the office.

Some areas of responsibility

• 
  

• Step into projects across very different domains, build context quickly, and bring structure — a clear goal, an operating cadence, a shared view of status — synthesizing inputs from different engineering disciplines into one coherent plan, while tracking progress and surfacing risk early.

  
  

• Own cross-team dependencies and stakeholder communication — map dependencies early and broker the conversations across UX, backend, infrastructure, data, applied science, regulatory and product; give hospital and clinical-IT stakeholders clear progress updates and answer their technical questions; and keep internal stakeholders current with crisp, no-noise updates.

  
  

• Set up and mature repeatable operational delivery processes where they're missing — intake, throughput, quality gates, hand-offs, SLAs - document the processes, keep them running and improving over time (Setting up and maturing the data-annotation team's delivery process is one live example.)

  
  

• Work with the data: understand our product and delivery metrics and trends, spot the blind areas of what we don't yet know, and turn that into improvements to our processes and customer interactions — partnering with data/BI engineers to strengthen what we can observe.

  
  

About you

• 
  

• 3–6 years in technical project or program management, delivery management, or a closely related technical-coordination role, with real ownership of critical projects delivery.

  
  

• Genuinely technically fluent: you don't need to write production code, but you reason comfortably on top of engineering inputs across several role families (backend, infrastructure, data engineering, applied science, UX) — enough to challenge estimates, spot conflicts, and earn trust of the engineering team.

  
  

• Highly adaptable, and effective across different kinds of work rather than a single domain; you get up to speed fast in unfamiliar territory and are not fazed by a problem space you haven't seen before.

  
  

• Able to hold a large, interconnected picture — many workstreams, dependencies, and stakeholders — and keep it coherent.

  
  

• Comfortable reading dashboards and product/delivery metrics, reasoning from them, and using them to drive decisions.

• Familiarity with one or more of our technical domains: cloud (Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes, on-premise / hybrid deployment, multi-modal LLM training and evaluation, web-application or LLM / agentic systems, and data pipelines.

  
  

• Experience standing up an operational process from scratch, and hands-on with product/BI analytics tools (PostHog, Amplitude, Grafana) and modern issue-tracking (GitHub Projects).

  
  

• Experience delivering in regulated or healthcare environments (PHI/PII, MDR/IVDR, AI Act, GDPR).
