PROJECT MANAGER – TECHNICAL ENERGY PROJECTS (Longterm employment)
Are you a technically strong Project Manager who maintains oversight, makes clear decisions and successfully delivers complex projects?
For Zwart Techniek, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary energy projects. Zwart Techniek designs, builds and delivers complete power solutions that ensure organisations have access to reliable electricity at all times.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS WILL YOU WORK ON?
You will work on projects such as:
• Complete emergency power systems for data centres, hospitals, industrial facilities and other critical environments
• Large generator and genset installations, including fuel systems, cooling, ventilation and noise-control solutions
• Electrical distribution systems, switchgear and control systems
• UPS installations and Battery Energy Storage Systems
• Microgrids combining generators, battery storage, solar power and the electricity grid
• Turnkey energy projects, from design and engineering through to installation, testing and commissioning
These are not standard installations. They are customised and technically complex projects in which mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control systems and construction-related facilities come together.
The installations must perform reliably under all circumstances, because power failure is not an option for these clients.
Projects range from individual emergency power installations to large-scale power plants consisting of multiple generators with a combined capacity of several tens of megawatts. Projects are carried out in the Netherlands and across Europe.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle: from the technical handover by Sales through engineering, procurement, production, installation, FAT, SAT, commissioning and final delivery.
You will manage several projects simultaneously and act as the central link between the client, engineering, procurement, production, subcontractors and site teams.
Throughout the project, you will manage the four key priorities: safety, quality, planning and financial performance. You will remain closely involved in the technical content, contribute to solutions and take timely action when progress or project results come under pressure.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing and maintaining integrated project schedules
• Managing engineering, procurement, production and subcontractors
• Monitoring budgets, cost forecasts, risks and project results
• Translating client requirements into clear technical work packages
• Reviewing quotations and supporting supplier selection
• Preparing execution, safety, testing, FAT and SAT plans
• Coordinating transport, lifting operations, installation and assembly
• Managing testing and commissioning activities
• Leading project meetings and client meetings
• Monitoring quality, safety and contractual commitments
• Preparing progress reports and ensuring professional project close-out
WHAT DO YOU BRING?
• A completed technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience with multidisciplinary technical projects
• Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical installations
• Demonstrable project management experience
• Experience with budget control, planning and contractual agreements
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English
• Experience with MS Project or similar planning software
• A structured, independent and results-driven working style
WHO ARE YOU?
You combine strong technical understanding with commercial and financial awareness. You communicate clearly, remain calm under pressure and hold people accountable for agreed actions.
You anticipate risks, think ahead and develop practical solutions. You are able to align clients, internal specialists, suppliers and subcontractors and keep everyone focused on successful project delivery.
