Cboost is on a mission to make the world’s essential industries more resilient and sustainable. We do that by building the eyes and brains of machines. We’re growing fast, which is why we’re looking for an Experienced AI Vision Engineer to join our team.
How you will make an impact
You will take a leading role in the design, development and deployment of advanced machine vision and Vision AI solutions for our industrial customers. You work at the intersection of computer vision, deep learning, industrial imaging and software engineering, helping customers solve complex operational challenges through innovative technology. From automated inspection systems and quality control applications to robotics integration and process optimization, you will develop solutions that take over complex work from humans.
You won’t be alone in this of course. We’re a small, diverse and passionate multidisciplinary team. Using your expertise, you will collaborate closely with AI engineers (Vision and Physical), software engineers, system engineers, project managers, and customers while also helping shape technical standards, best practices and the future direction of machine vision within Cboost. You will mentor colleagues, contribute to pre-sales activities and play an important role in continuously elevating the technical capabilities of the organization.
Your responsibilities
Within projects, you will be trusted to independently drive technical workstreams, translate customer requirements into scalable solutions, and make critical engineering decisions throughout the project lifecycle. Thanks to your structured way of working, you ensure projects are delivered on time, in full and within budget.
- Design, develop, deploy and optimize machine vision and Vision AI solutions for industrial applications, focusing on reliability, maintainability, scalability and deployment efficiency
- Develop, train, fine-tune and validate state-of-the-art deep learning models for tasks such as object detection, segmentation, classification and anomaly detection
- Select and integrate cameras, optics, lighting systems and other industrial imaging hardware
- Deploy solutions on edge devices, industrial PCs and customer infrastructures
- Independently lead projects to delivery and act as a technical expert within other projects, guiding solution architecture and key technical decisions
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams
- Support project estimations, technical proposals, quotations and solution concepts, translating customer challenges and operational requirements into robust and scalable vision system designs
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and actively drive innovation initiatives within Cboost
What we are looking for
This is a serious role, and we know what kind of skillset we need. That said, if you can’t tick all the boxes below, but think you got what it takes, we’d still love to hear from you.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Vision AI or a related field, with a proven track record developing and deploying vision-based solutions in industrial or production environments
- Ability to lead projects and solve complex engineering challenges within budget and on time
- Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in AI, Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Willing to work side-by-side with your colleagues in our Den Dolder office at least 3 days per week (selection of which days is flexible, the amount of days is non-negotiable), and willing to regularly visit customer / partner locations
Technical expertise
You have strong experience with:
- Programming languages such as Python and/or C++
- Object detection, segmentation and anomaly detection models
- Model training, fine-tuning, benchmarking and performance evaluation
- Dataset creation, annotation and data quality management
- Edge AI deployment and inference optimization
- Various camera systems, optics and industrial imaging technologies
- Lighting design and image acquisition techniques, including camera calibration and image correction methods
In addition to the above, you understand not only how to build AI models, but also what high-quality image data is required to make them successful, and when classical machine vision techniques can outperform AI-based approaches.
Bonus points
- Experience with robotics / physical AI and industrial automation
- Experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers
- Familiarity with industrial inspection and quality control applications
- Fluent in Dutch
What we offer
This is role where no day is the same: you visit clients, work with engineers, and help build innovative projects.
In addition:
- Laptop (phone optional)
- Pension scheme
- 25 vacation days + flexible working options
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience to support you in your tasks
- Close-knit, driven team of 20 colleagues with regular drinks, knowledge sessions, and game nights
