Mechanical Procurement Engineer | Wind Turbine Robotics
Location: Vught
Fulltime (40 uur per week)
About us:
IntoMachines has a young team with the purpose of changing the status quo by building smart software and hardware for automated tightening of bolted connections in wind turbines worldwide. This contributes to faster and more cost-effective installation of wind turbines, thereby lowering the cost of wind energy and helping accelerate the energy transition!
How you will like joining the IntoMachines team: A day at the office.
The morning starts with focus time to check planning and getting updates from suppliers. Daily before lunch, a team brainstorming session is held where questions, challenges, and possible solutions are discussed. In the afternoon, hardware/software tests are conducted on a prototype wind turbine setup in our workshop. Here you will see any improvement points on parts / procurement processes, which can be implemented the day after. This way, our products develop quickly which allows you to truly make an impact on the world.
About the Role:
As Mechanical Procurement Engineer at IntoMachines, you'll own end-to-end procurement of all custom motors / sensors, machined and bought-in parts, from RFQ through to delivery into our workshop. Understanding 2D drawings and tolerances, communicating them to suppliers and checking if these requirements are met is an important part of the job.
You'll run materials planning and manage our custom build MRP system, keeping a live view of what's on order, in stock, and in WIP. Being able to further build-out our custom MRP system is a plus.
You'll negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times, and construct a supplier base that delivers earlier and more reliably than current. You'll decide where strategic stock or buffer levels are needed, distinguishing high-risk machined parts from standard buy parts, and coordinate with Quality on incoming goods inspections.
This is a real builder's role: someone who plans 3-6 months ahead, doesn't take no for an answer, and wants to build the systems and protocols that let IntoMachines scale toward the market leader in automated bolting machines.
The following characteristics are required for the role:
- Experience with building and running a supply chain for machined and standard parts, from finding and judging suppliers, send RFQ’s, place orders, keep track of supply planning in the MRP system (2+ years industry experience)
- Having a feel for negotiate pricing, terms and lead times. Find a balance between price and quality.
- Having a feel for clear communication. Able to deliver a message, such that its content actually is understood by the receiver. Also being able to listen carefully and ask the right questions to find out what you want to know.
- Strong 2D/3D drawing literacy (tolerances, GD&T, materials, finishes).
- Manufacturing-process knowledge - milling, vacuum casting and similar - to judge feasibility, cost and lead time.
- Experience with international suppliers (Incoterms, logistics, customs basics, tariffs).
- Comfortable working with AI tools like Claude, to automate work and getting things done faster.
- You are a real builder, not a maintainer; who wants to create and improve the system.
- Don’t take no for an answer – you take joy in finding a solution and bend situations such that the desired outcome is still achieved.
- High ownership; treat supply-chain performance as personal scoreboard.
- Detail-oriented but pragmatic; understands when "good enough" is enough to ship.
- Calm under pressure during delays, escalations and last-minute changes.
The most important one:
- Happy to be hands-on in a small, scaling team - no ivory-tower management.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary ranging from €4500 to €5600 gross per month, depending on experience.
- 25 paid vacation days + 10 unpaid vacation days
- A fixed additional monthly pension bonus
- Travel expense reimbursement.
- Personal development program: Your roadmap@IntoMachines, with monthly coaching session .
- Monthly team outings.
- Work from home one day per week.
- A challenging position within an innovative and growing company, which is changing the world of wind turbine bolting.
- Location of office: Vught, Noord Brabant
