Klaar om te solliciteren? Lees de omschrijving alstublieft minstens één keer door voordat u op 'Solliciteren' klikt.
This internship focuses on the design of novel light-driven chemical reactors. You will use total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) to image water splitting activity at TiO2 nanoparticles, evaluate the impact of direct versus near-field excitation by monitoring oxygen evolution, and integrate optical setups and simulations to advance TIRF microscopy in studying photochemical processes.
Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in a Master’s program in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field. You hold nationality of an EU member state and/or are a student at a university in the Netherlands. The internship must be a mandatory part of your curriculum. You should be available for at least 5 months, though longer duration is preferable.
Work Environment
AMOLF is part of NWO-I and conducts fundamental research on the physics of complex forms of matter and on the creation of new functional materials. The 3D Photovoltaics Group investigates nanoscale phenomena at solid-liquid interfaces and develops materials for sustainable energy. The institute employs approximately 140 researchers and 80 support staff.
Working Conditions
At the start of the traineeship, your trainee plan will be set out in consultation with your AMOLF supervisor.
AMOLF Energy Research Academy
AMOLF offers a special program for research internships in sustainable energy science, combining a research project in one of AMOLF’s research groups with a series of tutorials on fundamental aspects of sustainability technology. Admission to this Academy is only possible in combination with a research internship at AMOLF.
