As a Property Underwriter within our Amsterdam office, you will play a key role in delivering sustainable and profitable growth across our Property portfolio. Working within agreed underwriting authority and appetite, you will assess and underwrite a broad range of commercial and industrial Property risks, supporting both domestic and multinational clients.
Your Role
- Underwrite Property risks in line with authority, guidelines, and risk appetite.
- Contribute to portfolio performance and delivery of the annual business plan.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to underwriting strategy, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
- Monitor market dynamics and cycles to support sound underwriting decisions.
- Continuously develop technical expertise and contribute to team capability.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in Property underwriting preferably across commercial and/or industrial risks, including domestic and multinational business.
- Strong understanding of Property risks, policy wordings, and coverage structures.
- Comfortable working with brokers and building long-term professional relationships.
- Able to make balanced underwriting decisions combining risk analysis, pricing, and portfolio considerations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, self-driven, and effective both independently and within a team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level
- Industry-Recognised Diploma in Property (Fire) Insurance Underwriting and Claims Handling (Nibe-SVV).
- Experienced in underwriting commercial and/or industrial Property risks or similar roles.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (mandatory).
