The HR Manager, Marine Vertical will serve as a strategic and operational HR leader for the Marine Vertical, a division of AIT Worldwide Logistics, supporting over 500 teammates across different countries in Europe, Asia and USA. This role will be instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business goals, driving talent initiatives, and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture. The HR Business Partner will partner closely with regional leadership and corporate HR to deliver impactful talent development, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Business Partner will have responsibilities related to performance management, coaching / training leadership, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, teammate recognition and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership : Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Marine Vertical, regional leaders, and regional HR representatives, aligning HR strategies with business objectives across different continents.
  • Talent Management & Development : Lead initiatives in performance management, succession planning, and leadership development. Develop standardized job profiles and appraisal system. Identify and nurture high-potential talent within the Marine Vertical.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement : Provide expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and teammate engagement. Champion a culture of inclusion, recognition, and continuous feedback.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding : Design and implement a best-in-class recruitment process and onboarding experience tailored to the Marine Vertical’s global footprint.
  • Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure compliance with local labor laws, global HR policies, GDPR, ESG and ISO standards. Partner with legal and compliance teams to manage risks and implement regulatory changes, coordinate confidential counselling ethics hotline.
  • Workforce Planning & Recruitment : Forecast workforce needs, succession planning, build talent pipelines, and support strategic hiring across the vertical. Monitor absenteeism and offboarding and improve related processes.
  • Change Management : implement consistent HR tools and processes based on HQ toolkit, support change and support integration initiatives.
  • Project Leadership : Lead or support global HR projects within the vertical, and cross-functional collaboration efforts within the Marine Vertical.
  • HR data : Maintain HR systems with up-to-date employee data. Provide information for ESG Sustainability Report. Drive data-driven HR decision-making.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (required)
  • Work Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a global or regional role.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR practices
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership
  • Experience in matrixed organizations and cross-cultural environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS
  • Strong communication (English fluency), interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Global mindset with ability to navigate cultural nuances
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and business acumen
  • Ability to work independently, solution oriented, and lead through influence
  • Travel Requirements

    Estimated travel up to 20% across Europe and Asia
