purpose
The senior accountant will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and tax filings, Month and quarterly close activities and perform assigned reconciliations. You are an expert in the field of accounting and focus on the internal financial reports. You will be required to apply your problem solving skills and look beyond our existing processes and procedures. You will drive continuous process improvement initiatives and foster a service culture and communications with stakeholders. You are a team player who is helping out other members and giving guidance and training of juniors and peers in their day-to-day tasks, in order to improve the quality of process, controls and reporting.

key responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate and timely close processes and the preparation of internal reporting in accordance with local accounting rules.
• Direct, monitor and review the daily accounting function, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash administration and general ledger.
• Qwn the inputs of your entities for financial cycles such as financial reporting cycle, closing cycle and audit cycle.
• Create and maintain the balance sheet dossier by making optimal use of Tagetik Account Reconciliation & Transaction Matching.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
• Prepare and review local tax filings for several entities; support other tax compliance activities and be in close contact with the Tax department.
• Working with the financial control teams to assure smooth month-end closing processes.
• Establish internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and assess internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
• Guide and coach juniors, mediors and peers in their day-to-day tasks in order to improve the quality of process, controls and reporting.
• Support citizenM’s finance strategy and identify opportunities for improvements, standardization and best practice implementation.

qualifications / skills

• Bsc or Msc in Finance / Accounting / Economics
• Structured, organized and able to work under pressure
• Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central 365 is an advantage
• As this is a new role, an entrepreneurial mindset is important - being proactive, flexible and independent is a must
• Fluent in English, Dutch or French is a plus

• This position will be based in the Voorschoten Support Office. This is a full time position, hybrid work is possible, not fully remote.
