Europol is looking to establish a reserve list of successful candidates for various positions in the Operational Departments, as well as the Corporate Affairs Bureau at Europol.
There are currently five (5) internship slots available, each with a different focus area and starting date throughout the year. Based on the profile of the successful candidates, the intern will be allocated to one of the teams listed below regarding Infographic Production, Communications, Layout Design and Campaigns.
A. Innovation Lab Team
This internship project focuses on supporting the activities of the Innovation Lab by contributing to the development of visual and communications materials, as well as support the network and research functions.
The assigned activities will include :
- Creating slide decks, brochures, or other promotional materials for internal or external use. This task provides experience in aligning graphic design with communication goals.
- Assisting in drafting newsletters, and articles for intranet (IRIS) and the European Platform for Experts (EPE).
- Assisting in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking meeting notes, especially for the European Clearing Board (EuCB) and Hub for which the Innovation Lab provides the secretariat. The intern can also help with follow-up actions, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders including Horizon Europe projects.
- Support researching and analysing emerging technology trends, tools, or methodologies. The intern can compile reports or visual summaries to help the team anticipate future developments and align their projects accordingly.
B. Campaigns, Visual Production and Digital Communication Team
This internship project focuses on supporting campaigns and other communication activities through visual and graphic design, and support of audio-visual production.
The assigned activities will include :
Support the implementation of Europol's communication strategy and work plan, primarily through the production of graphic outputs;Support Europol's website and social media management by producing visual assets;Support various (administrative) duties related to communication activities, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents and reports, managing inventories;Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.C. Campaigns, Visual Production and Digital Communication Team
This internship project focuses on web publishing and online content management, as well as content production.
The assigned activities will include :
Support the implementation of Europol's communication strategy and work plan, primarily through management of the Europol website. Preparing, drafting and optimising content for the Europol website and online channels;Support various (administrative) duties related to communication activities, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents and reports, managing inventories;Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.D. Prevention & Outreach Team in the European Cybercrime Centre
This internship project focuses on supporting the team with the creation of communication material, creation of infographic contents and support to prevention and awareness campaigns for operational and strategic actions of the European Cybercrime Centre (O3).
The assigned activities will include :
Contributing to the development and implementation of campaigns;Supporting and managing visual and graphic design projects, including the production of print and digital publications and social media visuals;Supporting Europol's external websites and maintenance of Content Management Systems;Implementing Europol's communication and content strategy;Developing and maintaining Europol's branding and corporate identity;Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.E. Strategic Analysis Team in the Operational and Analysis Centre
This internship project focuses on assisting with the layouting of strategic reports and related products.
The assigned activities will include :
Lay-outing strategic analysis reports and other documents making use of existing templates;Developing templates for strategic reports and other relevant products;Designing infographics and other visual elements for Europol strategic reports;Preparing PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use;Providing design advice to the analysts to translate ideas and concepts into graphic elements;Provide visual and web design support for the team's Europol Platform for Experts (EPE) dedicated to intelligence analysis;Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.The selected applicants will join the internship projects for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 12 months, including any possibility of extension based on the performance of the intern, the interest of the service and budget availability, with a work schedule of 40 hours a week. The internship will take place at the Europol premises in The Hague, The Netherlands.
During the period of internship, interns currently receive a MONTHLY MAINTENANCE GRANT of 1602 EUR, serving the purpose to cover the costs of living in The Netherlands.
