Senior Android Developer (Kotlin) - Talpa — Video Streaming — Hilversum (Media)

Talpa is one of the bigger media companies in the Netherlands, is setting up a brand-new in-house mobile team. This team will take full ownership of developing a state-of-the-art white-label platform that will serve as the backbone for well-known radio and video apps.

You will join a newly formed Scrum team consisting of a Product Owner, a UX Designer, four native developers (iOS & Android), and a QA Automation Engineer. Together, you will build a platform fully based on the latest technologies : native Kotlin for Android, combined with a GraphQL backend (AWS AppSync). The goal is to achieve maximum efficiency and scalability while making a significant impact on the user experience of millions of users.

Your profile :

• 5+ years of professional experience as a native Android developer using Kotlin.
• Knowledge of GraphQL (ideally AWS AppSync) and backend technologies such as Node.js.
• Understanding of cloud-native development principles and experience with AWS; Docker / Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to act as a technical sparring partner for the Engineering Manager and the team.

Nice to have :

Salary : up to 90K

WFH : Hybrid (approx. 50 / 50)
