Europe

The position

This is an opportunity for you to lead Procurement on a global stage and report directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer. As Head of Procurement Ingredients, you will take full ownership of our sourcing strategy for Europe while playing a key coordinating role across the US and Australia, partnering directly with producers and suppliers all over the world. In our business, speed matters and margins are tight, your ability to secure the best possible prices and conditions will have a direct and visible impact on our success.

The team

You will lead a team of 7 dedicated professionals in our office in Rotterdam. You will shape strategy, navigate volatile markets and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and international suppliers. You will have the freedom to operate, innovate and work together with various stakeholders and leaders across geographies.

The exciting part of this role is that you can combine strategic influence and operational involvement, keeping you closely connected to the business while leading negotiations and using data to make smart and commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including KPI management of suppliers’ performance.
• Support procurement process improvements
• Negotiate and conclude large (multi-year) contracts
• Provide highest level of service to internal and external customers.
• Continuously identify and realize cost saving opportunities without supply or quality disruptions.
• Direct policies and procedures for the procurement of direct raw materials to achieve organizational goals.
• Provide overall planning, budgeting and development of the team
• Manage, coach and develop team members and lead to empower
• Bring and enhance supplier / industry market intelligence and insight as a source of innovation and value creation.
• Develop sourcing strategies and cost reduction opportunities while ensuring supply and quality.
• Strategic management of the category portfolio to ensure safety, stability and legality of the finished beverage products while reducing cost year over year.
• Close collaboration with local R&D, procurement and sales teams to ensure successful development and execution of new product launches.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is ready for the next step in their Procurement career. Besides the following qualifications and attributes, we put great emphasis on personality, drive, attitude and potential.

• You have obtained a Master’s degree
• At least 8 years of experience in Procurement
• Experience in a FMCG/retail company in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment
• You are open to travel 30-50% of your time
• You have a sharp mind, strong analytical skills, are data savvy and thrive by combining this with deep rooted commercial drive for success
• You are ambitious, have a strong track record and been exposed to international procurement - ready to make the step up
• Experience with sourcing strategies and supplier management programs.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, procurement systems (e.g., SAP), and generating reports that can influence procurement strategy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
