About us :

Damen Civil & Modular Constructions is a company within the Damen group where we are passionate about building entire shipyards, drydocks of all sizes, a wide range of pontoons and barges, split hopper barges and any other steelworks worldwide.

We are headquartered in the center of the Netherlands in Gorinchem but we service an build all over the globe.

We have a diverse mix of experts in engineering, production (local and global), quality and project / product management. Together we aim that our internal and external clients are served with success.

About you :

You are a communicative and organized person, eager to excel in the field of project management whilst thinking outside the box. You have a technical background with a hands-on mentality and thrive in a dynamic environment.

The role :

Currently we are looking for a mature project manager. In this function you will take the lead on big steel projects such as drydocks and large ponton orders for Civil and Modular Constructions.

We expect that you are able to deliver a project on time, within budget and up to our Damen quality standard whilst communicating clearly with your internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

You are overall responsible for delivering a project on time, within budget and up to the Damen quality standard. If there are any issues you communicate these in and externally.

During the process you report and keep all stakeholders informed and escalate when necessary.

To ensure the above you visit the production sites worldwide on a regular basis.

Education / skills and experience :

• 5+ years of experience of managing projects in the maritime environment
• Practical experience
• Hands-on mentality
• Higher professional education or Bachelor in technical or maritime thinking level
• Good command of the English and Dutch language (written & verbal).
• Available for business travel and / or working abroad for a short-medium duration.
